A Family Trip To Ikea

Guess what tomorrow is? Well besides it being Saturday, it's a big fun day for us (me & my fiance Bilal). We are taking a family trip to Ikea in Cincinnati. Myself, Bilal, and my parents are piling up in my mom's suv and driving the hour drive to Cincinnati from here in Louisville.  Long way to go for furniture you may say, true, but as an Ikea newbie I am thrilled to go.
So because we are moving next weekend and my mom is giving us 80% of her household furniture, because I am fairly certain she just wants new furniture and this is a good excuse to get some. So she is on the hunt for some new furniture to replace those that we are taking. And my mother, being the suave European lady that she is loves Ikea. That love has transpired onto me apparently.
At first thought, Ikea doesn't seem like the type of place people dream of visiting I am sure. I heard that within the store they have a grocery with  various Swedish items. I also heard they have a delicious restaurant. But above all there is the store full of inexpensive and modern furniture and household items. Why oh why can't they build an Ikea closer to Louisville? Ikea...listen up! We need an Ikea in Louisville!
So the night before our lil mini road trip, I keep thinking about how exciting it's going to be. The food, the furniture, the food....My dreams will be of boxes filled with furniture ready to be assembled. Who knew it could be exciting like this?
So as I retire for the night.....I can't wait for the morning. I promise to post on my experience in Ikea and what all we got for our new place! Stay tuned!

50 Shades & Snow

It's snowing outside....not like the little dusting of powdery snow that barely stays on the ground....but a full on blizzard up to as much as 4 inches. Great...I think  to myself....and I am that unlucky employee that works at 6 am and has to trudge my lil Cobalt over the creek, through the woods, and up the monster hill in front of my house to get to work by 6.   *-*

Great.

So what's a girl to do....well we started off by going to Target before it got too bad and picking up some items for our new apt. More to come on that later...

And now that it's cold, snowed in, and late I break out my 50 Shades of Grey. Yea, I got on the bandwagon after the first book. I couldn't help myself. Us women all remember as teenagers sitting up to watch those cheesy softcore shows on Showtime late at night, and these books are no different Would I take reading this smut over Twilight? Hell yes. I have no desire to read about pregnant vampires and their werewolf friends...but bondage, and erotica...different story!

Call me crazy but what girl wouldn't want their own Christian Grey? To buy you Audi's and Macbooks, take you on private flights, and do whatever your heart desired? You don't have to be materialistic to like that. It's like as soon as I feel like the book cannot thrill me no more...it does. I tell you it really sucks you in. LOL

So while it's snowing away, I'm going to enjoy my little private island of adult joy. It really makes my night...I tell you.

Some might say, I don't want to jump on the bandwagon. Or it's not for them. Understandable...but don't knock it till you try it! It lets your mind wander and I'm sure can give any marriage a lil bit of spice. Cause after you read a chapter, your panties will be in a bunch! :)

So off I go to read, and call it a night! Till tommorow! PEACE.

Product Review: Always Radiant Infinity Pads & Tampax Radiant Tampons

Hey hunnie bunnies! Yea yea..the picture I know. It probably makes some of the men reading right now quiver at the thought. But for us women....well we are no stranger to that time of the month.

Call it whatever you want, the monsoon, crimson tide, big red parade, that special time....it's not anything we can help so might as well find the best way to deal with it.

I was actually quite thrilled when I received this product in my Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox. Partially because it was almost that time of the month and this was something I really needed because I had run out of "supplies". So the product got it's fair share of testing!

I tried out the panti-liners which were AWESOME. I cannot rave enough about them. I used them the last few days of my period when I needed that light coverage. They are absorbent but so comfortable! Whats really nice about it is that you can wear them with any kind of panty. Boy-shorts, thongs, regular undies. And they are so thin! It's incredible they hold so much but are so thin! I am definitely repurchasing!

I also tried out the tampons, and they were just awesome. Very comfortable and absorbent! Also repurchasing!

I did not try out the maxi pad because I prefer not to use pads but I am sure that the coverage is just as good!  Also the trial size we got came with a little pouch to store your feminine products which was ingenious!

So I am giving this product a A++. I mean it was everything I was expecting and more. I can't even think of one bad thing about it! I recommend it to all my girlfriends!

I wanna thank Influenster so much for this product to review and thank you to Always and Tampax! They really made dealing with periods more bearable!

Product Review: Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen

Hey lovelies! Got another product review for you all! I haven't been able to do my product reviews for my Influenster VoxBox lately because of technical difficulties with my blog..oppsie. But I am back at it again after sorting that out!

Sow without further wait...let me bring it on! Starting with Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen!

I was a bit excited about getting this product in my VoxBox because I do love Hawaiian Tropic Products. I have bought their Indoor Tanning products before and my family has always bought Hawaiian Tropic sunscreens and outdoor tanning lotions. So I am no newbie when it comes to Hawaiian Tropics quality!

This sunscreen came in SPF 30 in my VoxBox but it does come in other SPF strengths as well. It had a very nice cocoa butter smell which lasted for quite some times after using.

It goes on a little bit white in color but soon after becomes clear and just looks like you had just but lotion on. It wasn't very greasy and dried quite quickly.

My fave part of the product by far was the packaging. I love the bottle and how the product looks swirled inside. It really appeals to me and I would be intrigued to purchase this product by the packaging.

The only downside I would have to say is probably just that despite it not being very greasy it's still a little bit greasy for me. I am very weird about how greasy lotions and sunscreens are so that doesn't surprise me I find it greasy. Also I just really don't use sunscreen much because I don't spend a lot of time outdoors or at a beach so it's kinda unessecary for me. But it's never to late to just use sunscreen everyday!

So overall I give this products a A. I like it quite a lot and I would recommend it to anyone who likes or uses sunscreen! Or just anyone!

I want to thank Influenster for sending me this product to review! If you haven't already joined Influenster you should, it's free!

Review: Quaker Banana Nut Bread Soft Baked Bars

Hey everyone! It's Voxbox time again! So excited! I was really excited and happy that I got picked for the latest Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox! It was full of great products which I will be reviewing here and on my Youtube channel.

One of those great products was the Quaker Banana Nut Bread Soft Baked Bar. I was really excited to test this because I LOVE banana nut bread and I love on the go healthy snacks! I am always on the go so I am always looking for a good snack.

So upon first glace the packaging was very nice. The wrapper is see through which is nice cause you can see the bar inside. I liked how they highlighted some of the nutrition information on the side of the wrapper. I always liked that the wrapper gave you the tip to try the bar warmed up. I might not have thought to warm it up otherwise.

I took mine out of the wrapper and cut it in half so that I could warm up one side and keep the other piece cold so I could try it both ways. It felt really soft and not as hard as I thought it would feel with the pieces of nuts on top. The bar looks like a granola bar but softer and with crushed up pieces of almonds and it looked like walnuts on top.

The bar didn't really smell much like banana nut bread. It smelled more like some sort of oatmeal. I was a little worried maybe it wouldn't taste like banana nut bread and more like oatmeal.

I tasted the cold piece first. At first the first taste I tasted was definitely the banana. It tasted just like a banana nut bread slice. The nuts on top did give it a nice bit of crunch and texture. It was a little bit dry I thought because I did need some water afterwards but it wasn't too bad.

I tried the warmed up piece next and surprisingly it was a different kind of flavor. It kind of toned down the banana flavor which I wasn't too fond. However warming it up did tie the flavors together nicely and it tasted like eating a warmed up piece of banana bread. I did agree that it tasted better warmed up.

The nutrition content is 140 calories, 5g fiber, 20% daily value of B vitamins, 6g protein.
Prices vary but I did see a 4 pack box at Target for $2.00.

So here are the pros and cons.

The pros are I liked the flavor, it truly tasted like banana nut bread. I liked the crunchy texture of the nuts on top. I liked the flavor warmed up. I also liked the way this could be a great on the go breakfast.

My only con would be that I would have liked more of a banana flavor and maybe a bit more moist.

I would definitely repurchase this product especially after seeing on their site that it also comes in a Cinnamon Roll Flavor which sounds delicious!

I really enjoy testing this out and want to try the other flavor!

Thanks to Influenster for providing this in my VoxBox for testing!

Review: Sally Hansen Salon Effects!

Hey guys! I'm back! Sorry for the lack of updates for a while! I have been dealing with some medical issues and haven't been feeling quite like myself lately. After a week I finally feel a tad bit more like myself and I am trying to get back in the groove of my reviews and video's.

I am planning on filming tomorrow for my Youtube channel so stay tuned! I have a updated Skincare video coming up!

But back to the issue at hand. I am finishing up on all my Influenster reviews. It was such a blessing to have such a great voxbox and now I received an email that I would be receiving the Summer Beauty Voxbox! Woo! Thanks Influenster!

Included in my Spring Beauty VoxBox were the  Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Decals. I was very iffy about trying them out. I have tried some in the past and I was disappointed with them. However, I was willing to try them again.

So here is my experience with them.

So to start out, I loved the Kiss Nail Decals in my previous VoxBox. I was quite impressed with those so I was hoping these would live up to the expectations. The designs in the included brochure were very nice. I loved all the designs. The price on them is about $9.99 so a bit steep. The Kiss Decals were cheaper.

The design I got was Kitty, Kitty. I love animal print so that is a big plus.

So upon opening it, there were many nail decals, an orange stick, and a file. As well as instructions. I followed the instructions and got the above result.

So here is the good and bad of it all.

The pro's are: I liked he designs. That's really about it.
The cons are: The sizes on these nails were totally off. I couldn't find a size to fit. The only one that fit was my pinky and even that was too small. The sizes are all almost the same and did not fit my nails well.
They were aggravating to apply. They were hard to place on the nail, they were flimsy, and they got stretched out easily and messed up.
The price is too high. I love Sally Hansen products but for $10 I would expect better results. At about $5.99 would be a more fitting price.

I have to say I was still disappointed. They were just not for me. I thank Influenster for the opportunity to try them! I still think I will stick to the Kiss Nail Decals though. : (

I hope you all found this review helpful! Stay tuned for further updates!
